The Sipura company was started by earlyer cisco employes that also developed the cisco ATA device some years ago...


The 36 pin connector on SPA2000 seems to be present on WRT54GP2 as well. Since the Visba does not seem to contain any JTAG pins, my guess is that this connector is used to program the flash. There are a few jumpers on the SPA. These might be used to switch between programming mode and running mode. It might also be possible that they can be used to signal some gpio pins to reset to factory defaults...
